Romaine Sawyers addressed the media after scoring the game-winning goal in the Bluebirds’ 1-0 win over Reading.
“I think you witnessed that tonight in the celebrations and for Perry’s goal that we have a true camaraderie and a real belief,” Romaine said. “We’re very excited, everyone is incredibly happy and singing off the same hymn sheet.
“Cedric often reminds me that I only score excellent goals!” But as long as it goes in, I’m satisfied, whether it comes off my shin, my skull, or my fingernail.”

The midfield maestro has started every game for manager Sabri Lamouchi, and he has nothing but admiration for him.
“When he first arrived, he conducted one-on-one meetings with everyone, and mine was quite favourable. He sang a lot of accolades, which is wonderful for any musician and also nice for me.
“He believes in us. Every athlete wants to be informed that they are good, that their skills are needed on the team.
“Having a manager tell us that we’re going to be fine, that we’re good enough, that we can come out of this, and showing that he believes in us is a huge thing.
“I’ve had a hit-or-miss season so far, but just for him to believe and confidence in me is huge, and I owe it to the boys and to him with my performances.”

With back-to-back victories, the Bluebirds are ascending the table, and Sawyers believes the only way for the team is up.
“We’ve got maximum points this week and it’s been a terrific week. But we have another significant test coming up against Norwich.
“They’ve had a bit of a hiccup, but we can go there with a lot of confidence, especially from the first game of the season and we’re going into it in excellent form. We’re as confident as we’ve been in a long time.”
